I am thrilled to announce that The Great Penguin Rescue has been the recipient of the following book awards:

Nautilus Book Award - selected as a 2011 Silver Award Winner

Massachusetts Book Awards - selected as a 2011 'Must-Read' book and nominee for the 2011 MA Book Award (winners to be announced in September)

Library Journal - selected as one of the 'Best sci-tech books of 2010'

On June 28, 2011, I had the honor of giving a TEDx talk at the TEDxBoston conference. TEDxBoston is an independently organized branch of the TED talks. These talks honor local innovators who have the passion, curiosity, and tenacity to change the world with their revolutionary ideas.'  My 12-minute talk about the Treasure oil spill rescue can be viewed on the TEDxBoston website and on YouTube.

The Great Penguin Rescue was sold to Tantor Audio, who released it as an audio CD and as an MP3 file in 2010. The book is read by award-winning narrator, Coleen Marlo. The Great Penguin Rescue was also sold to Zahar in Brazil, who published it in Portuguese on July 22, 2011 under the title, 40.000 Pinguins.
